A New Gin Infused With Vintage Harley Davidson Parts

Are you tired of eating the worms at the bottom of your tequila? Are your pockets lined with cash? Do you love vintage motorcycles so much that you live, breathe and.. drink them?

If you answered yes to all three of these- look no further. A new product has hit the market, and it was made just for you.

World-class custom bike builder, Uwe Ehinger, AKA The Archaeologist, has recently released a new line of gin, ‘infused’ with actual parts from classic Harley Davidson Motorcycles. That’s right- each vintage chic bottle comes with a pretty good-sized hunk of old engine floating around in it… the spirit of a Harley in your cup of spirit.

We at Dirtbag Clothing think this designer gin is ‘totally metal’.. and would love to give it a try. It comes in three revved up varieties:

  • For your entry level biker dude, the 1962 Panhead- weighing in at about $1060.
  • For the guy who is serious about drinking motorcycle parts, but is not entirely sold on this marveling concept, the 1947 Knucklehead- available at a cool $1175.
  • And lastly, the only gift worthy of kings, or maybe just the ruler of your bike club.. the 1939 Flathead- the true premium option at around $1300.

At prices like these, this gin is nothing to shake a camshaft at. A neat relic, as well as attention to detail are the biggest selling points here. Every bottle comes packaged with a fancy paper insert, printed on some 1930’s printing press, bearing the stories of the engine parts enclosed.. I don’t know about you, but I always like to know the true origins of the engine I’m sippin’ on.

Lastly, the burning question: is it safe for me to drink steel Harley Davidson components from the mid-twentieth century? A quick dive into the statements from the company says it is. Apparently the parts are specially cleansed and coated with some space-aged food-safe tin alloy… seems legit.

The gin can be purchased at The Archaeologist’s Website.

Brit rockers ‘Two of Substance’ to headline Liverpool’s Cavern Club

by: GJoneZ

The U.K. has bred some of the world’s most elite musical talent.. from the Beatles and Stones to Zeppelin, the Who, Sex Pistols, The Clash, and beyond – Something about world domination must go hand in hand with making kick ass tunes. Recently, I spoke with Dirtbag Endorsed Artists, ‘Two of Substance’ – a U.K. band with a new take on the classic tradition that is British rock and roll.

G – Hello, and greetings from across the pond!! I recently got the chance to check out your new tracks on Spotify: ‘Feel a Sound’ and ‘I’m Getting By’ .. which make up in full, the little two-song snack which you recently released. Well done. You have dropped a couple of these little snacks recently- tell us about the thought process behind releasing music in two’s.

2OS – We have always believed in the idea of letting people become acquainted with some of our songs before we release them all together in a full length album. That way, the LP will be welcomed with both arms because people will trust what is already on it. There’s nothing worse than a Band releasing an album which is full of songs that haven’t already been promoted as Singles because it dilutes the audience’s attention. We have our eyes and ears on both ends of the spectrum.

G – How did you choose these two tracks to join together for this release?

2OS – For “Feel a Sound / I’m Getting By” specifically it was just a case of trial & error. We’ve released Singles with B-Sides, so we thought it would be kinda cool to experiment by releasing a Double A-Side Single. It’s worked pretty well so far so we’re made up with the results!

G – Can we expect any more two-song snack packs from you this year?

2OS – Having released 4 Singles from our upcoming album, two B-Sides and a special VEVO release – I think we are more than satisfied with what is up for grabs now until album release day. We are stupidly excited for that!

G – Somebody told us you have a pretty big show coming up.. and you’re the headliner?

2OS – Yes! Quite literally a dream come true because we are headlining The World Famous Cavern Club in Liverpool, birthplace of The Beatles and home to other legendary bands that have performed there. To even play there is an honour, but to be told we are headlining was like Christmas coming early! Wednesday 20th September at 7pm is when the doors open and we’re gonna be playing songs off our album and throwing in a couple of covers as well, so we are bouncing off the walls for this!

G – What can people see at a 2OS show that they might not get anywhere else?

2OS – Three people that have a truck load of passion and just want to have a good time. We all have a very unique sense of humour and sometimes that can slip out on stage if we are enjoying ourselves too much, but other than that, the major thing that sets us apart from other bands is our songs… because nobody else performs our songs.

G – What is the weirdest thing that has ever happened at a 2OS show?

2OS – Oh God… well a few things spring to mind, but one we will say for now is when we were signing autographs after our set one time and this guy asked us to sign both his nipples and his belly button – which we did, because we are decent fellas after all.

Decent fellas they are! Keep an eye out on The Cavern Club Website to purchase tickets for the September 20th show, and be sure to follow Two of Substance!

Dear Abbey – Song Review – Parasite

I jump-started my Friday morning by rushing out the door for work. I was still dreary, and in a bit of a haze from the show I had gone to the night before. When I got on the road, I received an email asking me to review the new single from Dirtbag artists, Dear Abbey, entitled: Parasite. Given the condition I was in at this particular time of the day, I was unprepared for the musical kick in my ass that was about to be delivered.
This track busts through the doors with a driving guitar lick, led in by a full-band hulk smash. Right off the bat, I hear a fat, pumping, pulsing kick drum. It cuts right through the heavy guitar rhythms/soaring lead like a fresh blade. This song has gotten my attention; I am wide awake now, and we haven’t even hit the first verse.
So the band pulls back a little; a tight, crunchy rhythm takes over, and out pours the beast himself, Jeremy Hunter. In an era of such steep uncertainty for hard rock, a strong, male-fronted act is exactly what these times call for.. and Jeremy Hunter delivers. The verse builds perfectly into a catchy hook, followed by an expected and appropriately-placed interlude.
From here, the rest of the track writes itself. The above mentioned sequences repeat, and we are taken into a majestic and curious-sounding bridge, which incorporates some neat guitar sound effects. The chorus then plays out two more times, and the song hits its abrupt finish- the lead slowly echoing off into the distance. Although I could feel the punch in this song, I could almost predict what was coming next. This song would make a perfect push for radio play.
Parasite is hot, it’s heavy, and is guaranteed to blow the lid off your brown-bottle flu. Another woe often overlooked in hard rock these days is accessibility [and in many cases, intelligibility]. Without a doubt, this song is accessible, relatable, and radio-ready. I am exceedingly ambitious to hear the rest of Dear Abbey’s new LP, The View From Up Here, available April 15 on iTunes, Google Play, and Spotify.
